Sharing Circles 2023
Living Languages have continued to host the ever-popular Sharing Circle in 2023!
Our wonderful trainers, otherwise known as the deadly duo; Birrbay woman Mandy Davis & Ngalakan/Mudburra/Jingili woman Desiree Johnson have played an integral role in bringing these Sharing Circles to mob. Together they have continued to nurture a culturally safe and relaxed space for mob to share and connect on language, community, culture & everything in between.
They have had some wonderful guests join them this year, most recently they were joined by guest presenter Tahlia O'Brien (nee Burchill). Tahlia is a Kuku Yalanji woman, Julay-warra (from Daintree) and powerful language advocate. She joined Sharing Circle to share her personal language journey, as well as her ideas and resources that she has developed to support her language work.
Sharing Circle will be on-going, and so far, they have proven to be an incredibly important and necessary space for mob. We’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this space!
