Community Trainer Block 2
Community Trainer Block 2 is done and dusted! We spent 3 great days with the crew, with lots of laughs and some learning on the side.
We began with a conversation about how people have started putting things they learnt from Block 1 into practice. It was awesome seeing everyone again, and learning from such great experience in the group.
A big focus of this block was different activities and things to keep in mind when teaching different age groups, with everyone contributing to a group brainstorm of how to adapt lessons for different age groups. We then jumped into scaffolding content and lesson plans, and also looked at some features of Zoom to help with online training.

Our final morning was all about training resources, and everyone shared some of the deadly resources they use in the classroom, and some great ideas for how to use them. We wrapped up the block with everyone delivering a short lesson that they’ve taught before, but adapted to work for a different age group – we all had a lot of fun playing students for the afternoon, and learnt (and laughed) a lot in the process!
