Ceduna Workshop Series Feb 2021
In February Living Languages did weekly online sessions with Far West Language Centre (FWLC) in Ceduna. These sessions focussed on unpacking the Master-Apprentice Language Learning Program (MALLP) for a combination of new staff, community members and fluent speakers.
Ebony went through the foundations of MALLP, like what Master-Apprentice teams look like and roles within the team, the principles Master-Apprentice teams follow, teaching and planning techniques used and resources that may be useful to teams. With the help from FWLC Co-ordinator, Lynette, we were able to have demonstrations of teaching techniques and activities on the ground in Ceduna. Lynette spoke of her experience with using MALLP and shared resources made by previous participants of Living Languages’ MALLP training.
It was great to show participants the Master-Apprentice Language Learning Program and discuss with participants how they see the program working in their communities and how they would adapt certain elements to better suit their language situations.
Thanks to Lynette for teaming up with Ebony to support the delivery of our training on the ground, while Ebony Zoomed in every week.
