Who we train with
Living Languages supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are working to maintain, revitalise and reclaim their languages. We provide grassroots training to people, communities and Language Centres that approach us for support and training, working with you to create tailored programs and workshops that will best support your language goals.
We train with people who work in language-specified positions, or who are working on their languages in their personal time.
This includes (but is not limited to) people who are:
language workers wanting to upskill
individuals or small groups doing language work
staff of language centres and/or associated community members
developing and implementing language programs or projects, for example:
teaching languages in schools or community language classes
documenting languages
community-friendly language resources
community language awareness
language maintenance programs
trying to interpret academic language materials for community to understand and utilise
wanting to learn skills that will help their language learning
wanting to make a language plan or learn skills that will support their plan
reclaiming their languages and aren’t sure where to start
